Questions to Ask Colleges/Recruiters

  2. What other players may be competing for the starting position?
  3. What division and Conference are you in?
  4. Do you ever redshirt athletes?
  5. Do you offer year by year scholarships for 4 or 5 years?
  6. What expectations do you have for training and conditioning?
  7. When does Coach contract end? How long does the Coach plan on staying?
  8. Would a scholarship be maintained if the coach changes?
  9. Who else are you recruiting for this position?
  10. If you are a setter ask if they prefer a 6-2 or 5-1 offense?
  11. If you got hurt would you have your scholarship renewed for all years?
  12. Do you have a whatever degree program? What is it ranked?
  13. What percentage of players on scholarship graduate from your school?
  14. What academic support programs are available to student-athletes?
  15. Is summer school available to athletes at no cost?
  16. How many credit hours should I take in season and out of season?
  17. Do most athletes finish their degree in four years?
  18. What is a typical day for a student athlete?
  19. What are the residence halls like?
  20. Do you have to live on campus all four years?
  21. If not, what is the amount towards living expenses?
  22. Are all books and fees paid for?
  23. What fees are not covered by the scholarship?
  24. What other financial assistance is available?
  25. Is it legal for me to receive another scholarship?
